Peter is the Proud Papa to 10 grandchildren and is lucky enough to have 6 of them in the Madison area.
In 2015, Papa discovered a local kids triathlon competition in Oregon, WI and mentioned it to his granddaughters that were the right age to compete. He took the time to train the girls in swimming, biking, and running. It is still unclear who liked the sessions more, the kids or Pete! That year all 3 successfully completed the event, which inspired the next grandchildren who were eligible in age to sign up this year.
In 2016 and 2017, Team Papa's Pride had 5 Triathlon Finishers.
Those of you that have worked with Pete know that he is always up for a challenge (taking on the Ironman competitions after age 50, without knowing how to swim for example). In 2014, Pete decided to participate in the Polar Plunge and became the event's top fundraiser for the Madison Chapter. He personally raised over $4,000 for the Special Olympics. Many of these donations came for his Loughrin Accounting, S.C. clients in support of his effort (Thank You!). Pete was featured in the Oregon Observer for his fundraising efforts.
